Title Clear aligners Successfully Treat Patients with Open Bites
Clinical Question In a patient with anterior open bite, will clear aligners create the tooth movement required for correction?
Clinical Bottom Line Clear aligners can successfully accomplish management of mild to moderate dental anterior open bite. However the current evidence is lesser level in the form of case report and series.Higher level studies are needed in the form of RCTs and SRs with meta-analysis to further investigate this topic.

The Evidence
Current evidence regarding management of open bite using clear aligners is in the form of case series and case reports. More clinical trials and prospective studies with larger sample size and pointedly reduced bias, need to be conducted in order to provide wider, higher levels of evidence.
Applicability Clear aligners can be a clinically effective addition in the treatment offerings of any orthodontist or general dentist as an alternative treatment option to fixed brackets for open bite correction. Clear aligners can be particularly effective for patients who refuse to wear conventional fixed appliances
