The Evidence
Torres performed a laboratory experiment where the groups were similar at the start and there was a 100% completion rate. The groups were treated the same and there was no competing interest.
Applicability Even though the samples were bovine teeth they were representative of the patient as the sample was a tooth that was capable of receiving whitening treatment. Treatment is feasible in an at-home (or clinical) setting as it is toothpaste and mouth rinse. The benefit seen in the study was whitening of the teeth, no harms were listed.
