This study is valid because the control and test groups were the same at the start of experiment and they were treated the same. There does not seem to be any conflict of interest by the authors. The authors compared the tumor response to thymoquinone and thymohydroquinone of the test groups to the control group that received no treatment. |
Applicability |
The significant anti-tumor effects demonstrated in these pre-clinical mouse xenograft models provide rationale to translate this finding to a clinical application for oral cancer patients. Importantly, phase I clinical studies of thymoquinone demonstrated that it is non-toxic to humans. Therefore, thymoquinone may provide a new therapy for oral cancer patients. |
