In a Healthy Adult Requiring a Composite Restoration, SonicFill is More Effective at Reducing Polymerization Shrinkage Compared to Bulk Fill Flowable Composites |
| Clinical Question |
In a healthy adult requiring a composite restoration, does SonicFill reduce polymerization shrinkage compared to bulk fill flowable composites? |
| Clinical Bottom Line |
In a healthy adult requiring a composite restoration, SonicFill was more effective at reducing polymerization shrinkage compared to bulk fill flowable composites. This is supported by a laboratory test where SonicFill, a nanohybrid flowable composite, had the lowest shrinkage value compared to the bulk fill flowable composites. |

Comments on
The Evidence |
Validity: This was a lab study that tested polymerization shrinkage of four different composites. Each composite was treated the same and followup was adequate.
Perspective: This study is limited in is validity because it is a laboratory experiment. Clinical trials are necessary to confirm the reduced polymerization shrinkage of SonicFill compared to other bulk fill flowable composites.
|
| Applicability |
This study is weak because it has not been tested in a clinical setting. More studies are needed to determine if these results will translate from the laboratory to the clinic. |
